Terry Canady, owner of Bill’s Marine along with his son Seth, invented the Rig Rangler.
The Rig Rangler is an umbrella rig organizer. Also known as an Alabama rig, the umbrella rig has become a favorite of bass fisherman in an attempt to hook suspended fall bass. Designed to simulate a school of baitfish, it features five super strong wires with swivels and snaps to attach your choice of swimbaits, grubs, spinnerbaits or jigs.
Canady saw a need for a way to keep the umbrella lure neat in tackle boxes so it didn’t tangle. He saw many homemade versions fishermen had developed including using water bottles and velcro, but nothing was durable, functional, and easy to use. “I thought if the material was more rigid, it might work,” he said.
So the Rig Rangler was born. “We tried many different designs before finding the right one,” Canady said. Terry and his son Seth founded C2C Fishing and got to work testing prototypes and getting the final product into stores.
The Rig Rangler has been met with lots of praise. It’s simple and easy to use. Just insert the fishing line through a slot and slide the Rig Rangler over your lure. What makes this unique is that the organizer can be used while your rig is attached to the line. Other similar products on the market can only be used when the lure is off the line.
The ease of use and unique ability to use while the rig is on the line saves prescious time on the water. You can pick up your rod and cast as quickly as possible. No more tangled lines, snagged hooks or reattaching rigs.
Pro fisherman Fred Roumbanis helped with testing and has endorsed the product. Visit SkiatookJournal.com to see a video of Roumbanis explaining and demonstrating the Rig Rangler.
Customers are also singing praise for the Rig Rangler. Mitchell, from Skiatook, said, “Worked great. Quick and easy to put on and take off. Keeps baits confined in the rod box or on the deck. Definitely recommend these for A-rig users.”
The Rig Rangler has been available for purchase for about three months now and can be purchased at Bill’s Marine, Tackle Warehouse online, and most recently in 12 area Bass Pro Shops. “Everything is 100% made in the USA. It’s more expensive, but that was really important to us,” Canady said.
You can also find the Rig Rangler at the Classic Expo. C 2 C Fishing provided Rig Rangler’s to Soldier’s Wish for sale at the Expo. All proceeds from the sales during the Expo will benefit Soldier’s Wish. Bill’s Marine will also be at the Expo with bass boats. |
